This project was the re-housing of clients from an old local authority care home with additional accommodation provided for other special needs clients from within the borough of Havering. The project provides three clusters of between six and eight clients with varying degrees of learning difficulties and physical disabilities. The layout creates a communal sensory courtyard garden. Additional overnight staff accommodation is provided in the unit where clients require highest level of care. This is generally provided in the roof space. The scheme was partially funded by the provision of eighteen one and two bedroom general needs shared ownership apartments. The site is very dense in order to make the best use of available land.
